For practitioners

Business skills for self-employed therapists

Your training prepares you to help and heal. Building a practice takes a different set of skills, and nobody taught you those.

What it covers

Built on the GROW Formula®

Ongoing, practical support for the non-clinical side of practice: attracting clients in values-aligned ways, building a loyal client base and referral network, working sustainably, and making sound financial decisions.
  1. Get Clients

Trust, visibility and a frictionless route to becoming a client.

How practitioners become findable, understandable and easy to choose, positioning, local visibility, and removing friction from the enquiry-to-first-appointment journey.

  2. Relationships

Referral networks, client experience and professional boundaries.

The relational work of practice: setting expectations, holding boundaries, communicating clearly, and building the referral relationships that sustain a caseload.

  3. Ourselves

    Workload, self-regulation and personal resilience.

Emotional labour, workload fragmentation and professional isolation, the self-management capabilities that keep a solo practitioner working safely and sustainably.

  4. Wealth

Financial confidence, sound decisions and operational stability.

Pricing, record-keeping, tax obligations and financial decision-making under uncertainty, the operational base a practice needs to remain viable.

It is built on the GROW Formula®, a competency framework covering the four domains of independent practice.

Be clear about what this is

GROW is a CPD Approved Provider (#790430). It is not a regulator, and completing a GROW programme does not license you to practise anything, replace modality training, or stand in for insurance or membership of your professional body. It develops the non-clinical side of running a practice.
